New Zealand School of Food and Wine (NZSFW) is based in the Viaduct Basin area of Auckland, surrounded by hospitality operations. NZSFW has developed regular and informal consultation with employers and peak bodies, so students acquire relevant, up-to-date skills and knowledge for a range of positions in hospitality workplaces. Today the school educates the next generation of baristas, chefs, restaurant and café managers, sommeliers and wine professionals, hospitality- tourism entrepreneurs as well as people who just love good food! Programmes offer practical hands-on cooking and hospitality-tourism focused certificates, taught by a team of chefs, restaurant managers and wine professionals who are experts in their field and focused on the success of the students. NZSFW runs the Wine and Food Celebration, as well as the New Zealand Sommelier of the Year competition to showcase key skills in this sector.
