Programme overview

Get the skills and knowledge you need to create positive, inclusive learning environments and become a confident and effective educator.

This one-year, full-time programme will give you a grounding in the principles and theories of teaching and learning, human development, the secondary school curriculum and teaching experience. Throughout the year you'll study both educational theory and practice while gaining real classroom experience at a school in the Wellington region. You'll need a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant learning area with an average of at least a B in your final year of study, and to be accepted by the Wellington Faculty of Education as suitable for the teaching profession.
