Programme overview

This qualification provides the construction industry with qualified people who have the essential knowledge and skills required to enter employment as architectural technicians who will be able to work independently on small and medium scale building projects of limited complexity through all stages to completion.

Students learn how to apply comprehensive industry knowledge to evaluate design principles for small, medium and large building projects in a design, building or construction related environment, carry out feasibility studies for small, medium and large buildings and establish the client's requirements, develop and communicate a concept and building design, and prepare approval documentation for a building project in accordance with a client's brief.

Graduates of the programme will be able to work as Architectural Technicians. With further training and/or experience graduates of this Diploma may be able to work as Architectural designers, Senior architectural designers, Architects, Interior designers, Urban designers, Landscape architects, Design managers or in another field related to Construction, Planning or Design.
